Orienteering race 1:44:33 [3] *** 9.52 km (10:59 / km) +380m 9:09 / km

About the same as yesterday. Had my biggest time loss on a control in a detailed area that I think may have been misplaced, and also had one small parallel error on a spur, and one route gone awry that I corrected without too much time lost. But again not moving very fast. Can't complain though, as it was a pleasant time.

Greaterville (Tucson A-meet) Blue. Very pleasant, but the terrain is too easy for me to stand a chance at doing well. I made virtually no mistakes (overran one control by less than 100m and corrected immediately), but nobody else made mistakes, either, and I wasn't able to move fast enough to take advantage of the unimpeded running. Between my lack of training and the fact that we were at 5000 feet elevation or so, I just wasn't able to run uphill.

Greaterville (Tucson A-meet) Sprint. This was atrocious. One boneheaded mistake, and another parallel error that seemed to be due to a map error, but maybe not since other people didn't get busted. But even deducting the time for those errors leaves me with a pathetic performance. Everybody at the meet did the same sprint course, and I'm not even in the top half of the results unless you include the MP and DNF people. Ugh.
Unicycling 2:00 [3]
Up East Montecito and back on Cristina's unicycle with the preposterously tiny wheel, in the dark, in order to establish that it was in fact a rideable object. And so I'd have something to log.
