It was supposed to rain today so I thought I’d get a break. The rain finished. What remained was humid. I am tired from ramping-up quickly but it really seemed that I’m slower on my new bike. It’s probably heavier. After 6.75 miles, a bee flew through the vent hole in my helmet and got stuck in my hair. I tried to extricate it but I got stung on my head anyway. Later, I got smoked climbing out of the Rock Creek valley, by a skinny grey haired man with long hair—probably he was in his late 40s. He was a strong rider and was spinning very fast.
