Bicycling (Road) 1:40:24 [3] 26.0 mi (3:52 / mi) +174m 3:47 / mi
slept:5.0 weight:204.7lbs (injured)

From Northfield Rd., to Moorland Ln., to Glenwood Rd., to Old Georgetown Rd., to Kingswood Rd., to Hurst St., to Grosvenor Rd., to Beach Dr./Jones Mill Rd., to the Rock Creek Pkwy., to Water St., NW, to the Capital Crescent Trail, to Little Falls Pkwy./Glenbrook Rd., to Wilson Ln., to Custer Ln., to Northfield Rd.

After the rains and doctor appointments for myself and Samantha earlier in the week, I finally got out to do some more cycling. I hadn't slept well last night. Every now and then, I'll get into these half conscious/directed dreaming nights where hours will tick by. It didn't help that I had to get up a lot to use the bathroom. That resulted in being 3 lbs. lighter than yesterday, but when I was riding for most of the first hour, I felt weak and even had sore legs at times. This eventually got better. I got passed by a guy perhaps my age but I caught up to him again. This happened a few times. I was losing ground on the hills, even slight ones, and gaining going downhill. After passing the zoo and going through the tunnel just behind him, we sort of split. I stayed on the road--the traffic is busier on the Rock Creek Pkwy. with 2 lanes each direction. The other guy used the paved trail--bumpy and more twisty. In Georgetown, I rolled through. Finding a comfortable gear, I passed some people going up the Capital Crescent Trail. Just before the climbing part, I picked-up one younger guy behind me. He was riding w/o cleats on a lower end bike. We were moving at a similar pace. We both stopped at the water fountain at the Dalecarlia water treatment area and chatted--It was reassuring to find pleasant people. It was also nice to have a tailwind the rest of the way back.
