Orienteering race (Local - Trevallyn) 41:35 [4] *** 5.3 km (7:51 / km) +100m 7:10 / km

Drove up Launceston early this morning to make the local event.. was perfect weather for running. Started out feeling really good (drugs were obviously still working), fast pace and motivated... especially after my 6min error on no. 1 a "bingo" control as pookie put it... seriously rusty on the navigation and found my mind wandering when I should have been focused. Beside 1 and small mistake at 4 everything was ok. Cold must have kicked in around half way as my pace slowly decreased and I felt pretty average finishing....

Didnt wear orthotics cause they dont really fit in o shoes without cutting off circulation to my foot.. but found that the uneven ground and weak ankles caused my knee (R more so than L) to twinge a bit. Was nice to run somewhere new.... actually it was nice to be orienteering again!

Sprint Course set by Ryan after morning event... didnt have much to eat between races so was feeling a bit low on energy. Wish I had been a bit more fresh and focused for this one as it was actually really cool. Main mistakes were the original features not being there and me being blind and not seeing the tape... unfortunately didnt have the energy to run fast but that didnt really matter as i spent most of the time trying to locate the missing feature. Knees were getting pretty sore by the end of course (put orthotics back in but it was too late)... Knew I was taking a long time when pookie had to come looking for me :) Was super course, just wish I could have done it better.. GPS will be hilarious

Putting out tapes for Ryans course.. found 1 - 14 fine but mucked up 15 and deicded it would take to long to tape last three controls and pookie would be clever enough to find them by himself. Medium paced jog.

Cold is still bad and doesnt look like it will be going away anytime soon.. Could only manage a jog/walk with diesel around the streets.. Dog was hopeless tonite.. kept trying to chase cats and run into bushes?!

Wanted to run today... but cold has just got worse... felt terrible at work and spent all night coughing, even after overdosing on the supermarket cough medicine, which obvivously doesnt work.. praying for an improvement in health tomorrow...

Cold marginally better... skipped hills and took diesel for a run cause he had too much energy. Took it easy after my fall on the icy driveway this morning. Cold didnt bother me too much but I wouldnt like to try anything too intensive until I am bit better (maybe tomoz?). Ran from home to
Dowlings house, then clarence high, howrah school, then underpass, pheonix st - talambi - home. Diesel kept up the whole way and stayed right next to me which was good...must be growing out of puppy playfulness... off to the gym now.

Gym - PF, Last week of PF 19, 20 starts next week.. seriously struggled after a couple of weeks off... dropped some weights down a bit and concentrated on technique... quads track was a killer.
Legs - 5 +1.1
Tri - 2.3 + 1.1
Shoulders 2x 1.1 + 1 (only for 3/4 in a break i dropped to 2.2kg)
Chest - the same
Back 3x 2.3
Will try and make Thurs morning class.
