Saturday Nov 11

Event: BATONA 500

Orienteering race 59:27 [4]*** 5.35 km (11:07 / km) +80m 10:20 / km

Batona 500 Saturday Green Y course, Batsto map

Flat terrain, no rocks, lots of blueberry bushes. A nice course and fun map (except for the blueberries). Lots of trails but the subtle contours can make it tricky. Had at least 10 minutes of mistakes, probably less than a minute on 4, 6-7 on 5, a 2-3 on 11, and maybe 30 seconds on 15. Decent run the rest of the time.

Sprint B at the Batona 500 on part of the Batsto map

Completely blew #10--didn't see the intersecting trail as I was going north on the trail out from 9. Lost a couple minutes there. Also lost a minute or 2 at 6, thrashing around in the green. I thought the control would be in the green and it was on the edge of the clearing. I enjoyed the course though.
