Event: Sprint Series Final & US Relay Champs

Orienteering race 22:21 [4] 1.71 km (13:04 / km) +33m 11:55 / km
Sprint Series finals, Sprint A, Orange/Brown/Green

Lost a good 5 minutes going to #1 then pretty clean. Decided to take the trail to 1, in hindsight going straight would have been better, and missed the intersection where I needed to go right. Ended up at 3, go flustered and still couldn't quite figure out how to get to 1, backtracked to 3 again and then ran the trails around to 1. Just the usual, stupid, going to fast before getting my head into the map sort of mistake. Frustrating.
Orienteering race 15:02 [4] 1.83 km (8:13 / km) +40m 7:24 / km
Second sprint, OBG

Much better run, just a few hesitations.
Orienteering race 22:02 [5] 3.15 km (7:00 / km) +33m 6:39 / km
All comers, mass start run of championship sprint

Good run. Lost my pack going to the second control. Ran on my own till I picked up the second map and then ran the last loop with Charlie and Glen in view. Stopped a few times on the way to 18 because I was worried about getting off on a wrong trail. Then hesitated near 19 because I wasn't sure which green patch it was but saw Charlie head into it.

Running 45:00 [2] 2.5 mi (17:59 / mi)
Tried running with a new running group that's formed at school but most are walkers and the runners are slowwwww. I'll keep trying to see if more real runners show up.
C • Lonliness of the long distance runner 2
