Note
(injured)

Pulled out of NSW Long Distance Champs (at Willagalong, near Lyndhurst) today as my right Achilles, which I injured yesterday, was just too sore to contemplate running.

Some good and opportune (we were both walking to the Start to claim our unused maps!) advice from now retired physio Liz on a change in management processes for these injuries, will hopefully get me back on track soon.

Orienteering race (NSW Middle Distance Champ) 38:59 [5] **** 4.01 km (9:43 / km) +123m 8:26 / km
ahr:146 max:172 spiked:15/19c shoes: Salomon Sense Marin trail shoe

NSW Middle Champs at Wyangala, first time here for almost 20 years but has been remapped. Intense course, with many controls and changes of direction, very physical but not overly technical. Ran and navigated really well through to 15, with just a hesitation and stopping short on 4. Then made silly errors on last 4 controls, the biggest on 18 costing about 1 minute and dropping me out of 3rd place, which I'd held for most of the race, back to 4th! Achilles was very sore afterwards.
