blue at griffith park. all on the roads, except where it cut 20 contours straight up the big dirt hill. then down the other side. several times. navigation wasn't hard, the only real challenge was not dying of heat exhaustion. and judging by the dropout rate for the courses, not so many people did that part well.

at least I wasn't at work. oh wait. I am now. and its now monday.

Joshua Tree. A sweet loop from Indian Cove up a steep canyon, then across the high desert to a crazy boulder hopping route down to Rattlesnake Canyon. this only includes the runnable parts of the route, the rest is below. Not too hot, 70s and breezy.

the vertical part of the above. fairly slow going. a mix of hiking, boulder hopping, climbing some 20ft chimneys, a few short crack climbs, wading through pools at the bottom of the canyons, jumping cactus, and generally scraping all the skin off my hands, knees, arms, and legs. as "runs" go, this one was pretty sweet.

down to venice and back. messing with the height of the seat a bit, since when the seat is at a comfortable height, the handlebars are too low and I lean forward too much and my back hurts. but the handlebars are already as far up as they go. I think I need a new stem.
