got a mountain bike a few weeks ago to ride to work, but I finally got a change to go try it on some dirt. how are you supposed to climb hills in these things? can't stand up, cause the back wheel spins. can't sit down, cause when you crank on the pedals the front wheel pops up. can't just go really fast and roll over the hill, cause its 2 miles long and 1000ft up. so much work and such little distance to show for it...

mt pinos blue day 2. I like this end of the map better, more rocks and less slash. much better than yesterday, one 6 min mistake and a few 30 sec, the rest was clean. also got 6 hours of sleep last night (the most since monday) so I didn't have as much trouble staying focused. won the day by a good bit, first overall for the weekend.

on a related note, I didn't go into work at all today. that was good. they called while I was driving home, but I pulled the "sure I'll come in, but I'm a 2.5 hr drive away so if you haven't figured it out by then gimme a call." they never called back. although I did turn my phone off...

mt pinos blue day 1. messed up early on a feature that I think is mapped wrong, which blew the concentration for the next couple legs. multiple 5 min errors. also just running slow from the altitude and working too much this week. pre-ran early since of course I had to be at work all afternoon (and night). 2nd for the day by 4 mins.
