sprints first, then live
wrestling (drilling) 1:20:00 [4]
after live today.

Wednesday Jan 30

wrestling (warmup) 30:00 [2]
wrestling (match) 7:00 [5]
duel with rhode island college.
team score 27-25 them. we got shafted on the forfiets again, giving up 18 points. in general we killed them on the matches.

very tired from being up until 8 in the morning last night in lab. definitly could feel it.

i had some super fat dude (280). couldn't do squat while on the feet, lost 4 points from dumb takedowns. scored all my points on legs in the second pd.
won 8-4.

Tuesday Jan 29

wrestling (drilling) 1:20:00 [3]

14 / 234

Sunday Jan 27

run 20:28 [3]2.72 mi (7:32 / mi)
good shoes. knees feel better.
lifting 25:00 [2]
bench, squat

Saturday Jan 26

wrestling (warmup) 30:00 [2]
wrestling (match) 2:57 [5]
duel with AIC
I think we tied 23-23, which is good because we gave up 12 pts of forfiets and they're division 2.

had a match with a tall skinny guy (~220 or so). it would have been 11-0 after the first period but I got the pin with 3 sec. left.

left ear hurts again.
5 / 240
run 21:35 [3]2.72 mi (7:56 / mi)
clear and cool, 40s
started pretty slow, knees were cold and non-bending. they loosened up halfway through so I picked it up a bit.
finally got the new running shoes. personally I think they look kinda goofy but at least they have soles.
Note
haha check out what I found today in a paper on programming user interfaces: web surfing = orienteering training.

"3.1.4 Navigating in Unstructured Environments
Less research has been reported that describes navigation through natural environments rather than through structured environments. However, some studies of orienteering and cross-country exploration have examined the strategies used by navigators in off-road environments, as well as the cues provided by those environments. To the extent that the Web allows the user to employ similar strategies and cues in navigating the Web, results reported by these studies are of interest."

wrestling (live) 1:30:00 [5]

twisted the left knee (the good one) in a sorta bad direction during live. kinda went crunch, but it doesn't hurt now and hasn't started swelling at all. should be ok.
13 / 235

Wednesday Jan 23

wrestling (warm up) 30:00 [4]
wrestling (match) 2:00 [5]
meet against bridgewater state (also USM but they didn't have a fat guy). we actually beat USM. go mit. brings our record up to 2-alot.

got some skinny guy (210). pinned him 1st pd.

didn't get to wrestle the guy that hurt my knee back in november, he got kicked off the team because apparently his GPA for fall term was 0.4

Tuesday Jan 22

wrestling (drilling) 1:40:00 [3]
wrestling (live) 30:00 [5]
some live drilling, then a 20 min match
8 / 235
Note
on a totally unrelated note, I was just washing out dishes from dinner (jalepeno alfredo) when I had to itch my eye. turns out there was a jalepeno seed on my finger, which then went into my eye. mental note: bad. fortunately the right side of my face went numb for ten minutes, which was good because for the first five minutes it was burning like crazy. several gallons of water later all is well...

Monday Jan 21

wrestling (drilling) 2:00:00 [3]

Friday Jan 18

wrestling (drilling) 1:20:00 [2]
ankle doing better, a little swolen but doesn't hurt too much anymore.

saw some guy in the athletic building wearing an orienteering jacket. he ran past me before I noticed so I didn't catch the club name, but it didn't look usa. any random fins in the area?

Thursday Jan 17

wrestling (drilling) 45:00 [1]
drilled all moves possible with one foot.

Wednesday Jan 16

wrestling (drilling) 1:00:00 [3]
wrestling (live) 30:00 [5]
whacked my ankle pretty good. just a sprain, I can still walk. sort of. missed the last hour.

Note
note for all the Vitamin-I junkies out there:
so while I was in the training room getting the ankle fixed, the trainer said I should take tylenol for it when I got home. I asked him why not Ibuprofin and he said that its because tylenol doesn't have the anti-swelling goodness. The latest and greatest theory among the trainers is that the body has the natural reaction to swell up when something gets hurt, so that must be good and we shouldn't stop it. Now for long-standing pain and stuff Vitamin-I is all good, but for the day-of-injury and soon thereafter its better to let it swell.

Saturday Jan 12

wrestling (warmup) 40:00 [2]
wrestling (matches) 5:00 [5]
tri with trinity, wpi

we almost beat trinity (27-30), which was good since we gave up 18 pts worth of forfeits

matches:

trinity: quite possibly the fattest individual on the planet, easy leg ride. pin 2:53

wpi: they didnt' have a fat dude, so they bumped up a light guy. couldn't have been more than 190. haha. hehe. easy pin.
