BAOC O in the Oaks A-meet.
A pretty miserable race. Routes went straight up steep hills for 20 contours at a time, the dead grass on the hillsides made footing impossible, and just because you're contouring across a super-steep hillside doesn't mean its as fast as flat. Not sure where the published "500-550m" of climb came from.
Run with Mikkel from Vermont canyon up to Mt Hollywood, then over to Mt Lee (where the Hollywood sign actually is). Had an unplanned traverse across a dodgy scrub hillside, since we were going off a geologic map that had no contours and had roads and foot trails mapped with the same symbol. But at least it had the local fault lines mapped in case there were earthquakes. Found out they're serious about "park closes at dusk" as the police were driving around the roads below us with megaphones announcing closure time and that everyone should be out by now. Also found out that when we got back to the cars and ours were the only ones left that they were probably talking specifically to us...
