Note
I was sitting at the gate in Vancouver this morning when they called me up to the counter to ask if I had checked a pair of skis. They said that they "found my ski tube downstairs without a check tag, it must have fallen off." Good think my name is plastered all over the outside in duct tape.

Sunday Mar 2

ski-o 1:08:00 [3]19.5 km (3:29 / km)
Canadian Ski-O champs at Stake Lake
The skis finally arrived at 10pm Saturday night, so I had my own skis (and poles) back, and a real ski suit. Plus it was nice and warm and sunny, and the trails were rock solid, so things were looking good.
Had a pretty clean race, lost about two minutes on #6 because I was trying to be sneaky and go around two hills and sneak up the back side to the control, except that the sneaky back entrance trail wasn't groomed, so I had about 50m of ungroomed-uphill-crusty-powder to go through. The only consolation was that Dad did it too. Ha.
On 3-4 I was the only one that went right instead of left, and was only 10 seconds (of 9 min) behind Brian, so I'd call that route a win, considering I was typically losing 30 seconds per 5 min leg to him and Margus for the other legs on the course.
Finished 3rd, 8 mins behind Brian and Margus, and 20 seconds ahead of 4th. Good thing that ungroomed trail wasn't 55 meters long.
skate ski 1:00:00 [3]8 km (7:30 / km)
no pole control pickup with Dad, then a loop out to #11 and back.
