orienteering 56:25 [3] *** 7.93 km (7:07 / km) +150m 6:30 / km

Three leg farsta at Brookvale Nordic Area, which would be totally awesome for ski-o. Its a really tight mess of big trails (look at the aerials), the woods are vaguely passable in places, and there are giant fields with trees nearby.

Race went fine. I got stung by a couple bees, but so did a lot of other people, and I seemed to get off easy. It was still plenty hot and humid, but the legs were all in and out of the ski trails so it was never green bashing for too long, and there were constant route choices of where to cut and where to run fast on the windy big trails. Basically a lot like ski-o. I had a blast.

COCs sprint at University of PEI. Had a good race, saw the couple simple traps that were in there and otherwise didn't have any problems. Still super hot out.

Note

It is uncanadianly hot here today, so we did absolutely nothing and it was pretty great.

Sprint along the beach at Hopewell Rocks when the tide was out. Lots of mud and seaweed, which was super fun in flat running shoes.
2 PM

orienteering race 1:12:56 [3] *** 6.47 km (11:17 / km) +212m 9:41 / km

Second day middle at Hillsborough. After getting lots of lost on yesterday's model event and/or wre race, today went quite well, as the terrain made much more sense. Still way too many mosquitos.

Control pickup. I was wrong, now there are way too many mosquitos.

orienteering race 1:19:52 [3] 5.76 km (13:51 / km) +112m 12:38 / km

COCs middle at Hillsboro. The map is some steep thick gully stuff, with a section of many many mosquito filled water pits. Good fun, and lots of getting lost. Wasn't running too hard since my ankle still feels not perfect, but I didn't hurt it more so that's good.
