Note

Ethan and I presented, along with Cambridge PE teacher Katelyn Greene, at the MA-HPERD conference in Worcester. You can see our slide deck here. We also demonstrated the first lesson in our 3rd grade PE curriculum. Quite a few people signed up or spoke with us to get more information. As a result, we will be be able to work with new school districts. I think back to our first MA-HPERD conference, at which there was a clear message that teachers need clear lesson plans, not just a bunch of references to read. This time we had the lesson plans, and the response was very positive. We are also building on our strong experience with Cambridge partners.

In addition to presenting, Ethan and I attended others' sessions. Some of the topics we sought out included how to teach skills-based content and how to assess students in PE. What we learned will influence our lesson plans.

We are excited to be getting a site visit in December from a potential funding organization. If we get that grant, it will help to fund the expansion of our school programs beyond Cambridge. It will also be the first grant from outside sources that will be greater than $10,000, which will make a big difference in our ability to continue paying staff to deliver programs, and putting us into a new level where hopefully we'll be able to attract more grant funding at that level and higher.

We also received a letter from another organization saying that they were declining to move forward with our letter of interest.
