To gym and back via the hardware store. Bought wood glue and wall-fixing supplies. Maybe I should ask J-J for advice; presumably he's had to fix a number of walls with all that cmc?

Work commute. As a result of our recent trip and its attendant jet lag, I've been up late hanging out with Dave, then sleeping in until 6:45 when the kids have to be woken up (point being, not getting up early and running), then managing them through the morning routine and out the door ("Run for the bus! RUN!"). After school/work it's nonstop dinner prep and homework oversight complete with emotional breakdowns (since we're all still tired). So I'm looking forward to the weekend when I finally get time to unpack the luggage, formulate my new year's resolutions and my 2007 training plan, put together the new Ikea furniture, reorganize two rooms, run for an hour a day, take receipt of my new DDR dance pad (I'm a sucker!!!!), dance for 2:40/day, make the kids finish all their homework for Tuesday, upload the rest of the Hawaii photos, pay the bills, do the laundry, feed everyone three times a day, catch up on my journal editting and conference management responsibilities, install Blender (3D/animation authoring software) for David [Dave - it didn't seem to install correctly on the Mac last night; maybe I'll try the PC], practice all the songs for the family opera then go to rehearsal, write our overdue Christmas letter, and just generally RELAX! Hey, maybe I can save time by setting up DDR so that I'm dancing to the opera practice CD.

Biked to and from the Cantab to check out bass player Zack Hickman's band. A few years ago, Zack lived in Nahant with Dave. Sometimes his friend Josh Ritter came over to hang out or play music. Josh seemed nice enough, laid back and a bit spacy (e.g., I don't think he remembered who I was from one time to the next). Then Dave and I started tripping over Josh Ritter all the time: he showed up on the cover of some Boston-area music magazine; his CD was prominently displayed in a cafe in a backwater California town we visited; we were watching a movie and the music sounded eerily like Josh Ritter - and it was!; I picked up a Runner's World (! - related to rogaine mind training or something) to read on the way to Hawaii, and there, on page 76 of the February issue, it mentions that Josh Ritter ran the NYC Marathon (and was apparently featured in the "I'm a Runner" section in the July 2006 issue). And, Zack is going to be backing Josh Ritter on David Letterman this coming Friday. Check it out! You can tell your friends: I know this chick on Attackpoint who knows Josh Ritter! (Though he doesn't know her.)

Aunt Linda writes that she & Uncle Carl are spending a bunch of time geocaching in the desert, and they really like it. I wonder if there are any geocaches on Maui.

Oh. Do I need to have a GPS to geocache?

Visited two geocaches near the hotel, with David, Isabel and Melanie, daughter of Phil (of "Nature's Reductionism" fame). Sunny and hot.
