| Running 40:00 [1] | ||
| Control setting and later looking for a team, for David's birthday party street-O.
Most of the party focused around making animations with drawings, Legos, clay & Scratch. Caz gave a Blender demo. 25 kids. One of them was a crasher, which I take to mean it was a good party. Here's what the kids came up with (can you tell they are mostly 13 year old boys?):

| Note | ||
| Dave has some amazing footage of Waldo, the praying mantis, in labor! Hopefully we'll have time over the holidays to get it on the web. | ||
| Running 35:00 [1] | ||
| Ice Bugs good. | ||
| Note | ||
| Whoa. Have you seen the "Street View" in maps.google.com? Click on the orange person. I guess they haven't done everywhere yet, but they certainly have done my neighborhood (02139). Shortly after Giovanni redid our side yard this past summer. | ||

Tuesday Dec 18 | ||
| Bicycling 8:00 [1] | ||
| Commute. Icy. Cold. | ||
Monday Dec 17 | ||
| Walking 16:00 [1] | ||
| Work commute. Takes so long without the bike! Some climbing over icy snow piles. Legs are in pretty good shape. No blisters from the marathon. Sore right little toe. Back slightly iffy, probably from the shoveling the days before and after the long run, and maybe a sore spot from where the camelback hits me. | ||

Sunday Dec 16 | ||
| Note | ||
| It looks like Waldo, our praying mantis, has died while laying a second egg case. The egg case is attached to two branches, and the rear of her abdomen is still embedded in it; her body is hanging down from it. Giving birth is a tough job. R.I.P. | ||
| Shoveling 30:00 [2] | ||
| Medium heavy, about 8" deep (much blown down off the roofs). Nice.
Now to go out into the world and retrieve my children from their overnight playdates. Although David doesn't really allow us to call them "playdates" any longer. Dave went up to NH to ice climb yesterday evening and will be driving back this afternoon. Should be quite the adventure.
| Note | ||
| Waldo is not dead. I guess she was resting. She really looked really dead. Her legs weren't holding on to anything, kind of all curled up, just hanging from the egg froth... | ||
