Bicycling 20:00
Pulled the trailer to Fresh Pond for our wee score-O.
As I pedaled along Memorial Drive, I saw goats, llamas (or their smaller cousins) and sheep. Also a wild turkey. I kid you not. And of course, chickens, but that was just pulling the bike trailer out of the garage and saying hello to the girls.
The CRLS team raced at our race, and I am happy that it includes at least one of the kids who was on the middle school teams coached by Evalin last year. Isn't that cool?
There were a ton of cross-country runners running across the grassy areas and into the woods once I got to the reservation. Apparently they were supposed to race at Lincoln-Sudbury but EEE drove them away. Keegan is on the CRLS XC team this fall, and was there, and noticed the O flags here and there, and so came to say hi before he left. I made him hang the last four flags. That was cool because it gave me time to talk to Chris Summerfield of MITOC who will be my contact for next week's race on the MIT campus on what I hope will be a new map made by Ed Despard. We are really excited about this new connection to MIT, and they said they'd support CSU putting on races there in the future, hopefully for Sprint Camp, for example.
