Note
Drove from Galesburg to Midway this morning. Gently undulating farmland. Lots of corn, some soybeans. A morning mist from 10-30 feet high; the sun hits it and it turns blinding white looking east. I felt sad. I've lost 4 people from the generation above in the past 3+ years: Mom, Uncle Carl, Aunt Linda, Aunt Connie. 3 of them in the past months. Going through Connie's house and belongings with her remaining sister, her husband and daughter , was good - to connect with them, and to be immersed in Connie's world. I heard from Linda's daughter today asking whether anyone might be able to go to Seattle for a September 30 remembrance. I won't be able to make that.
