Felt warmer than the temperature showed. I tend to have less achilles problems in my X-talons I noticed, so I used those instead of the F-lites. Achilles ok, not improving not getting worse. Pleased with the pace of the runs lately, I think most of it is due to getting the hang of my changed technique. GPS having an off day...

On Havelte West. Nice going on the MTB-track, then really enjoying myself running through the open fields with the wet snow in my face. Funny how an area can be different when the conditions change a bit. Achilles just a tiny bit 'tired'. Did a 1' break to relax the muscles a bit.

2e HOC'93 competitie, Staphorst. Distance 6,1km (5'41"/km).

Good run but missing a bit of fitness so couldn't push the pace on the trails. Pretty dead at the finish. Course was easy and if I'd navigated like I did today on a harder map/course I might've made some mistakes, but as it was it turned out ok.

3) Lost 10" hesitating in the circle. I knew where I was but expected to see the control earlier. Did a quick check to confirm my location.

9) Misread contours and thought the control was in a depression on top of a hill. Didn't spot the slopelines that showed it was actually in another depression. Turned around and saw the control. 12".

14) Couldn't see the more dense vegetation in the terrain and started doubting. Decided to just run further in this direction, worst case I would hit one of the two trails behind the control. 10".

19) First choice was to go via the trail south of 18, but then spotted a better choice north along the cycling path. Unfortunately the forest was a bit rough going and I wasted some time there. 15".

First physio visit for my achilles. Shockwave treatment + homework; stability exercises for right ankle (3x30"). Should also continue eccentric exercises.

Ice skating with Louis at De Scheg. Impulsive idea, so had to rent skates instead of using my own ones. Fun!

Cold night, but woke up to beautiful clear skies! Longer day but managed it surprisingly easy. Just wish we'd have started a bit earlier. Lots of people out in the forest especially around the Asselsche Heide.
