Didn't want to miss this race, and also a good way to test the ankle. Not too bad, but I think visiting a physio wouldn't be bad for a speedy recovery ;)
The dense fog made the orienteering just a bit more difficult, but that doesn't explain my mistake to 1. I didn't check my compass and just started running down the field in between the two trails. Unfortunately I mixed up the trails leading away from the start. Took me a while to figure out I messed up, and then relocation was quite hard. Some extra minutes missed near the control where I didn't understand the map. In total around 13'...
'Restarted' my race and then it was all fine, just some small misses at 3, 5, 7, 16 and 17 of about max 30" each, before I blew another 4' at 19. Again didn't really understand the map (and didn't tick off the features I'd passed in the green) and was to stubborn to find a good point for relocation.
Then fine again until the finish. No speed at all, but endurance-wise I had no problems with the distance. Great atmosphere during the run :)
