Went out right after the finish of the 1st stage of the Tour. Really relaxed tour, managed to avoid the rain showers.

Nice ride with great weather. I tried to get some people to join me, but that didn't work out unfortunately. Drank around 1,3l, but it still wasn't enough.

The plan was to take it easy the first 25k with headwind until the start of the climbs. I would just do all the climbing in a good pace, and then cruise home with a nice tailwind (4Bft).

And that's exactly how it went. A bit crowded with cyclists and hikers in the forest, but never really had to slow down that much. Added the 'Posbank-climb' at the end because I felt like doing a nice long climb before heading back :) Amazing views like always, all the way to the Rijk van Nijmegen (23k) and even the Reichswald (30k) too, I think.

A bit tired after 60k, but still coping pretty well with the distance. Ankle ok too.

Deventer - Hengelo. Lovely morning, quite warm already early. Took my mp3-player along to listen to some music. Nice motivation in the beginning but in the end I was a bit fed up with it.

Slight sidewind/tailwind, so not hard to keep up a good pace. Warm, warm, warm!

Had a shitty moment when I stopped for a traffic light in Deventer near the end and clipped out with my left foot (normally I'm always doing right first). When the light turned green I thought the right side of the pedal was up and put force, but unfortunately the wrong side was up and I hurted my left ankle, stretching it a bit more then I'd like. Now a bit more swollen, but it seems no big damage done so that's good.

Ankle seems to be in a state where the swelling doesn't really reduce anymore, or at least very slowly. It still feels like I'm able to use it more like normal with every day passing. Not going to run however when it doesn't look 'normal' yet.

Out late for a planned easy ride, also to check some roads which could be suitable for an interval lap. Quite strange to hold back a lot and cycle at such an easy pace. Legs felt ok, getting better throughout the ride.

First lap I tried out wasn't suitable because a large part was paved with cobblestones instead of asphalt. Second one was better, all perfect asphalt, but a few blind turns and probably more traffic. Off to search a better one next time I guess.

Four very short sprints near the end to wake up my legs a bit.

Deventer - Hengelo (gld). Rode with a nice pace until I saw the challenge of doing 30+ in one hour. Pushed quite hard after that and made it (30,42 in the end :)). Ended the ride in a very relaxed pace. Nice and sunny morning, although the cars and traffic lights in the first 8k always annoy me...

Hengelo - Deventer. First to the shop to buy some food in order to not bonk later during the ride (hadn't eaten since 14:00). Was a bit in a hurry to make it back on time in Deventer (shop there closed at 18:00), but I still didn't want to push that hard because of the morning ride. In the end this pace felt comfortable.

Took the shortest and most busy route, but in the end the noise pollution from cars didn't annoy me that much. The many crossings and traffic lights did however.

Made it to the shop and after that even considered to drop my bag at home and ride a bit more, but in the end I decided against it. A bit of rest and building the training load steadily won't harm me ;) Feeling great!
