Hiking race 1:59:02 [3] * 13.46 km (8:51 / km) +280m 8:01 / km
shoes: Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra 2

Spontaneous training race :) Awesome conditions: -2 degrees and quite some snow from time to time, but no wind at all. Out from 10:45 till 16:47.

Unfortunately I had to hitchhike alone, my intended partner was still stuck on the highway somewhere. Eventually met up at the last checkpoint. Co-planned the course, consisting of four checkpoints.

GPS battery died again, this time about half an hour before finishing.

Second run. Ankle reacting a little more, but that might also be because of yesterday's late climbing and today's early run. Wore my insole on the left again to prevent my hip from hurting (had some slight troubles on wednesday). Overall happy with the ankle so far.

Other than that a nice, cold, foggy morning. Enjoyed the run :)

Traveling to Clausthal-Zellerfeld 12:00-20:00.

Ankle a little more stiff than usual, but almost not noticeable. Got some good feedback after yesterday's run where the pain is located precisely. Seems like the next shockwave on Tuesday should target that area.

Climbing 35:00 [3]
shoes: Evolv Quest AF

In the Hague until 16:30, so started climbing a little later than usual. At Yosemite with Louis. Warmed up in a 3 (2x) and a 4.

Then did the same 5b as on monday, and this time didn't have problems to finish it, even though the small roof part was still challenging. Tried a 5c with a lot of overhang next, and decided this will be my little project. Really fun route but wasted too much time and strength doubting, so gave up. Ended with a 6b on a vertical wall, just to practice technique. Managed quite alright, with cheating once I managed to get halfway, just under (again) a little roof.

Cooling down with two 4's and some slacklining.

As agreed with the physio the first run in ages! Still a bit scared because of the limited flexibility of my left ankle (and slight pain), but it was worth giving it a try.

As it turned out it felt great, never hurted and afterwards it felt in fact better; more flexible and not stiff at all. Before I'm back in the forest orienteering it'll take some time, but for now this is positive :)

Quite happy about the pace too, related to how easy it felt while running. Might not be so hard to get the fitness back.

Note

4th shockwave treatment. While at first I wasn't even able to stand 1.4, now we're up to 2.0. The ability to bend my ankle is improving very slowly, but pain is clearly decreasing.

Climbing 1:00:00 [3]
slept:7.5 shoes: Evolv Quest AF

With Louis at Yosemite. Warmed up with 3's and 4's, then did a 5c which felt quite easy except for two moves I failed with. Tried a 6a after but it proved too hard, then a 5c on the same wall which I managed quite easily... We then did a 5b which I hadn't tried for a long time and was eager to finish, but I couldn't get trough the roof near the top. Ended with a 6a in which I just tried to get as far as possible. Didn't have much strength in my arms anymore so quit around half way.
Cooling down with a 5a, 4 and two 3's, then some easy bouldering. Ended with some slacklining, cool :)
