Was a bit anxious to see how my toe would react after friday. I iced it pretty well last days, and that seemed to work. Didn't bother me during the race, and afterwards only very minor reaction. Fun race, although the course was quite easy. I started too fast, but still managed to finish ok. Around halfway I noticed I had to tell myself to keep focused and plan ahead. Pretty ok technically, some route choice errors and two mistakes.
1) No start beeps and no 'go' from starter, so I had to ask again if I was allowed to start. Bit annoying.
2) Missed the gap between the building and the fence coming out of 1, +3"? Happy with my route, instead of going through the narrow inner gardens I chose the slightly longer but easier route.
3) Messed up the route choice a bit because I failed to plan ahead properly. Best was over the bridge immediately left and around the building. More fluent/straight. +7".
4) Accidentally turned left one road too early. Noticed when after turning right again it took quite long before I was at the end of the building on my left. +6".
5) Might've been better to go all the way around, now I had to extra corners. +2".
6-7-8) Good flow.
9) Map was wrong here, there was no gap on the west side of the temporary under construction area before 9. That was my choice, so bit confused.
10-11-12-13) Again a nice flow.
14) Didn't put enough effort into planning this one, so I picked a random route. Unfortunately not the fastest one and when I noticed I tried to correct but messed up the second part too. Northern route would've been fastest. +8".
15-16-17-18) Getting tired but still going well.
19) Messed up the exit out of 18, fighting through the bushes and climbing a fence. Exiting south through the depression/ditch would've been best. I planned a route though going between the buildings so I followed my plan. +4".
20) Looking at the splits, some people weren't completely fair...
21) Wasn't careful enough and ended up between the building and the wall, so had to climb the wall. +6".
22-23-24) Good.
25) I didn't run full speed on this leg even though it was easy. Wanted to take a few extra seconds to plan 26. Lost 4" to the fastest split here.
26) And then won 18" with a good route choice.
Still need to get a more disciplined in planning ahead, but at least I was following the plan I made. Big map and long legs didn't help, folding was hard at times.
