Orienteering 37:14 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (20:00 @2) + (7:14 @3) *** 4.59 km (8:06 / km) +25m 7:53 / km

Sunny 12℃.

Shadowing Adriaan around parts of his course while he was re-running it. Tired legs, especially both achilleses. Still surprised by how easy the running felt, just didn't have any speed. Navigating ok too :)

Cycling 8:00:00 [1] * 155.88 km (19.5 kph) +130m
shoes: Gazelle Giro

Started again at 7:20. Sunny morning, though a bit chilly. Had planned a vague route which I could cut short if needed. Long day but very enjoyable. Was taking it really easy, stopping a lot for photos and sightseeing. Wind picked up gradually, mostly headwind or from the side. Got really cold and wet the last 25km when it started raining, quite miserable really. Good mental exercise ;) Legs not as tired as expected, if not for the rain and wind I'd probably could've gone for longer, though I was happy to be back home at 18:30.

Route

Had been thinking about a cycling trip for some weeks, but since I've only got a road bike and a backpack I had to be a bit creative. Solved that by packing really light (just under 4kg excluding food and water), so the backpack was not disturbing me.

Nice sunny spring evening trying to get as far east as possible in the remaining day light. Night was not cold at all, even with only my bivouac sack and summer sleeping bag.

Sunny 12℃.

And back. Lovely morning. Spring is definitely here! Taking it easy across the Veluwe, then pushing the pace a bit the rest of the way. Feeling strong.

Climbing 30:00 [2]
shoes: Evolv Quest AF

Climbing with Louis and Geke at Yosemite in Zwolle. Took it easy since it was such a long time ago and I didn't fancy sore arms the days after. Climbed a few 4's and one 5b.

Cycling 2:08:41 intensity: (1:30:00 @1) + (20:00 @2) + (8:41 @3) + (10:00 @4) * 52.52 km (24.5 kph) +350m
shoes: Gazelle Giro

Partly cloudy 13℃.

Did some maintenance on the bike yesterday, so time to start using it more. Also a good reason to get more active again, if not running then at least cycling.

Packed my backpack and cycled to Mariska, joined by Louis until 42k where he rode towards Dieren. Lovely day much nicer and warmer than forecasted. Took it really easy, enjoying the forest and taking long breaks. Good ride in good company :)

Note

Planned to do eccentric exercises, but couldn't motivate myself for it. Calves a bit sore too.

Running 38:35 intensity: (8:00 @1) + (27:35 @2) + (3:00 @3) 7.87 km (4:54 / km) +10m 4:52 / km
shoes: Inov-8 F-Lite 240 #2

Partly cloudy 10℃.

Achilles not as good as I hoped after more than two weeks without running. Still not so bad, it just feels like something is 'wrong' inside the tendon. Will try to keep running and see how it develops. Physically not bad, had expected worse after inactivity and sickness. Ran in shorts and t-shirt, lovely.

Strength 5:00 [3]

2x12 with extra weight, after the run. Massage afterwards.
