Hiking 1:30:00 [3] 6.5 km (13:51 / km) +250m 11:37 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Trailtalon 290 #2

Viewpoint Hill. With F, M & G.

Same route as on the 20th but the other way around. Sunny but also a bit chilly. Petted some puppies on the way at a house where they have eight of them :)

Nice walk, good conversations. Was debating going for a run first, but wanted to give my body a little bit more rest and also felt more like a group walk.

Viewpoint Hill.

Another sunset run. The most clear day so far. Temperatures during the night have dropped to around -3C, and so the fog seems to relent a bit. Beautiful sunset. Also have permission from the landowner to use the direct trail up Viewpoint Hill.

Right knee a little sensitive, both achilles a little tired as well. Body not as responsive today neither. I thought running every other day would be ok, but maybe it's better to take it a little easier.

Viewpoint Hill. With L, M & F.

Enjoying the sunset from the viewpoint. To avoid the bramble path we took a different trail down, much more walkable but ending on a private property. Kinda in doubt whether to use this route or not.

Chilly evening once the sun left!

Ponzano.

Back on the west side of the main road. I was curious about potential unmapped trails on the little forested ridge just north of here, and found a trail on satellite images.

Lovely evening, taking in the last light as the sun disappeared behind Monviso (100km straight line away...). Trail was nicely runnable until the vineyards stopped, then it became overgrown and finally ended with a mess of brambles to fight through. Not sure if I'd like to do the whole thing again but the first part is worth it.

Starting to appreciate the area more, still not my favourite but there's something about the many little ridges and valleys and the small vineyards scattered around on them.

Body fine. Right knee still (!) a tiny bit sensitive/inflamed, going to try some icing. Seems like the bike ride to Leipzig really aggravated it and though I'm not biking at all at the moment it doesn't really go away. Not ideal with a possible week long bike ride coming up.

San Vincenzo.

Sun was out again for the first time in a few days. Fog is very persistent here.

Nice longer run exploring a bit more of the ridge. I definitely like this area the most so far.

Body felt a bit sluggish, so kept the pace relatively low, especially on the steeper downhills to reduce the impact on my joints. Don't want to overdo the training but instead build up slowly.
