Sunday Sep 14

orienteering 1:45:57 [5]10.6 km (10:00 / km)
Still not great (perhaps 15 minutes of errors), but far better than yesterday, probably mostly because some of the course was in much nicer terrain. I do so much better in nice terrain than I do in junk.
run 8:00 [2]1.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
Warmup.
stretch/stride 20:00 [1]

Saturday Sep 13

orienteering 2:10:00 [3]9 km (14:27 / km)
What can you say? Probably both the nastiest terrain and toughest control placements I've ever seen in orienteering. The only comparison was in Finland (no coincidence, as the Finnish course setter for this event told me that was his model). Skipped 11-14 and jogged in the rest after a 30 minute error at 9 (at least 20 of which I was within 50 m of the control), only to find that had I finished, my time may not have been so horrible comparatively.
run 20:00 [2]2.5 mi (7:59 / mi)
Warmup and cooldown.
stretch/stride 20:00 [1]

Friday Sep 12

orienteering 50:00 [3]5.2 km (9:37 / km)
Model event. Pretty nasty--a good indicator of things to come!
run 16:00 [2]2.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
Warmup and cooldown.
stretch/stride 10:00 [1]

Thursday Sep 11

run 21:30 [2]3.0 mi (7:09 / mi)
Easy jog to ensure legs are fresh.
stretch/stride 15:00 [1]

Wednesday Sep 10

run 35:55 [2]5.16 mi (6:58 / mi)
East along ditch trail. Easy recovery run.
stretch/stride 10:00 [1]

Tuesday Sep 9

run 4:21 [5]1.0 mi (4:20 / mi)
4 * 400 with 400 jog rest. Intended to work a little speed into the regimen, but with sufficient rest to make full recovery by Saturday no problem. Didn't have a good feel for the pace, so I went too hard on the first one (61.8) and had to fight to average 65.2. Strong headwind in the last 150 m of each one was killing me!
run 55:30 [2]6.7 mi (8:17 / mi)
Warmup, cooldown and rest laps at track, plus an easy run later with Jen on mountain bike.
stretch/stride 15:00 [1]

Monday Sep 8

run 20:00 [2]3.0 mi (6:40 / mi)
Warmup before softball game. Can now run at this pace with very little effort.
stretch/stride 15:00 [1]
