Unfortunately felt some pain at the end, but stopped before I did any further damage (I think!). I'll keep the volume low during the training in Japan, keep treating it, and hope it holds up in the races.

Foot still totally fine, but will continue to build very slowly, just to be safe. At this point I could certainly do much more harm by pushing it too hard, than I can do good with extra training.

Doctor took X-rays which revealed no stress fracture--no surprise, as I doubt that would have been improving so much, as this has been. It's just tendinitis in the tendon that leads from below the ankle out to the outside of the foot. The doctor prescribed me some anti-inflammatories (not on the banned list!) which should help also.

By the way, three miles was totally fine.

Two miles also was fine. I have an appointment to see a sports medicine doctor tomorrow, just to be sure I'm doing all that can be done about this.

Foot was actually pretty sore after the run on Saturday, so I've backed off, and am going to take this very carefully, since I don't have time for another setback! This one mile was just fine.
