| running 2:00 [1] | ||
| Set out on Morning Fat Run around Fawkner Park to test out my calves, as they 'felt good' yesterday. Didn't even make it to Commercial Road.
Later in the day, ran into Jase at the Nike factory while shopping for running bras (for me, not him). He hypothesised that my calf pain was linked to my gambling problem. When I pointed out that he had me confused me with Liggo, he apologised and suggested that it could be due to referred pain from the back and hips. Will test out that theory with some targeted stretching when I get back from the casino.
| pilates 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| Was a bit concerned when the instructor put on a Jewel CD and encouraged us to 'breathe out the toxins'. However, after that unpromising start, it turned out to be one of the better classes I've done. | ||

| Weights 40:00 [4] | ||
| Ate a banana as I was walking to the gym and as a result, stormed through my program. I am beginning to suspect a direct correlation between my poor form since March and Tropical Cyclone Larry. Back at work, I considered writing a letter to the Parlimentary Secretary for Food to complain about the Banana Industry Protection Act (1989) but abandoned the idea when I realised I would probably end up writing the reply too. | ||

| Ride to work was very pleasant, with temporary diversion due to cops, channel 7 chopper et cetera swarming around the Grand Hyatt, where 'Christian activists' are evidently camped outside the G20 summit. Not sure whether this is related to the men in dark suits with walky-talkies lurking around the foyer of my building. | ||

| yoga 45:00 [1] | ||
| It's amazing how different yoga classes can be. Some are a real workout; others are more in the relaxy-stretchy mode. This one fell into the latter category. Did so many hip opening exercises I felt like I was preparing to give birth. | ||
| eliptical trainer (or whatever it's called) 30:00 [2] | ||

| Weights 50:00 [3] | ||
| Braved the blizzard and went to the gym, where I sat on the rowing machine and watched news reports about unseasonal snow. Too bad it couldn't snow during the actual ski season. Felt good during weights session but I really am going to have to stop going to the gym during peak hour - I am sick of beefy neanderthal types trying to intimidate me off the equipment before I have finished.
Highlight of the day was finding a large bag of 'reduced to clear' bananas for $1.98. As far as I can tell, all that is 'wrong' with them is that they are small. Little do they know I would actually pay more for that. Although not $11.99 a kilo.

| cycling 50:00 [1] | ||
| Rode to work at a lacklustre pace, which meant I was frequently passed by old men in fluoro jackets and blundstone boots on WWII bikes with leather satchels ocky strapped to solid steel panier racks.
Came across this interesting piece of research at work today: MOST PURCHASED GROCERY ITEMS FROM AUSTRALIAN SUPERMARKETS 1. Coca-Cola 2. Longbeach (cigarettes) 3. Winfield (cigarettes) 4. Peter Jackson (cigarettes) 5. Horizon (cigarettes) 6. Benson & Hedges (cigarettes) 7. Huggies (disposable nappies) 8. Holiday (cigarettes) 9. Tip Top (bread) 10. Cadburys (chocolate) 11. Nestle/Peters (chocolate) 12. Pura (milk) The next time I am feeling fat and unfit, I will consult this list for some perspective.

| cycling (spin class) 40:00 [4] | ||
| Was actually planning to do a 5km time trial around Albert Park Lake with Gunn Runners today, but as I set off to jog there, the slight pain in my calves evolved rapidly into stabbing pain, and I was forced to turn around before Punt Road. Total distance covered = 400m. So I hobbled to the gym and did a spin class instead. A tough class, sweated half a dozen buckets. On my way home I swung by the supermarket, where I bought two packets of frozen peas, a bottle of Coke and packet of Winnie Blues. | ||

| pilates 45:00 [3] | ||
| Slept in this morning so didn't ride to work. Turned out to be a good call - pissing with rain and a howling gale. Went to lunchtime pilates to work on my secret core strength, but class seemed to focus more on upper body. Someone gave me a freddo frog as I was just about to leave work for the day, negating any six-pack effect gained in the class. | ||
| Weights 50:00 [4] | ||
| I have done way too many push ups today. Training included 10 minutes on the concept II rower, which caused me to sweat buckets. Came home and drank a Cascade Premium Light to rehydrate. | ||

| running 1:02:00 [3] | ||
| Headed out to Lystefield NP with Liggo, who went riding while I ran for an hour or so on the fantastic single track. 1st run since rogaine/infected toe debacle, so felt a little sluggish but was helped along by my new toy, an iPod shuffle, which is about the size of a pea. Achilles was a bit sore after 60-odd minutes so decided to walk the rest of the way home. I was over it by then anyway.
