Running Training hills (Terrain) 1:12:43 [5] 10.83 km (6:43 / km) +283m 5:56 / km

Wednesday night hills @ Dunnottar Castle. Same set as week before, this time running up Bervie Brae from LC with Paul Duncan.
Much colder (-2°C) than last week but calm winds and crispy under foot in places made it quite different.
Wasn't feeling the love for doing reps but dug deep and managed to knock out 3 x 3 sets of #1, #2 and #3 again.
Absolutely spent at end, slow run over to woods then down into town and back to car.
Not as much fun as DNC but avoids the mileage and it's free... and really hard work.

Orienteering race 51:14 [5] 7.17 km (7:09 / km) +90m 6:43 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov 8 Mudclaw 300 (Yellow)

Glen O Dee - Brown - 5.8km

Tried to run strong and keep moving, hard work on the wet boggy ground and all the fallen trees everywhere. Nav was pretty solid early on, odd line to #1 but nothing to worry me.
Legs really starting to tire badly on way to #8, knew it would be hard going from then on as far end of map is so rough. Dropped too low at #12, but caught up Gordon U at #14 when he overshot and held him off to end.
Really had to fly the last two legs from #14.

Should have been faster but just not got the speed just now, cold still waiting to hit me hard, instead it's just pulling me back from my best.

I thought I'd seen the course before, it felt so similar to something I'd run... turns out I'm right... It's like a gaffled relay ConspiracyTheory

Early morning tempo with Chris and Ryan, joining them for the first 30 mins of their long run then turning back to meet Kate and kids for Oli's swimming lesson.
Felt awful within about 15 mins, just didn't have the oomph I should have had going up a steady climb.
Think there's a bit of a cold waiting to hit me, enough other folk in the family had it over holidays.
Turned back at forest track at Swanley, coming home via Cheyne Hill road.
