Running Training (Mixed Trail) 24:58 [3] 3.99 km (6:15 / km) +86m 5:39 / km
ahr:119 max:152 shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 - Claret/Sk

Warm up run from Mackie Academy to Cheyne Hill with Chris C via Ury House.

Orienteering race 44:18 [4] 4.62 km (9:35 / km) +144m 8:18 / km
ahr:138 max:156 shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 - Claret/Sk

Summer Series - Cheyne Hill - Long Tech 3.7k

Well that was shite. Overgrown forest, 1st control in young trees with undergrowth of bracken and brambles, plus a few nettles for good measure, then straight down and up bracken and nettle covered gully to #2 which was a low cairn under chest high bracken!

Why the hell we persist in putting Cheyne Hill so far down the SS calendar I have no idea, it can't be used at this time of year... has to be one of the 1st events or not at all... and the map is needing updated too.

Course could have been fun in the Springtime.

Running Training (Mixed Trail) 18:47 [3] 3.14 km (5:59 / km) +38m 5:38 / km
ahr:121 max:138 shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 - Claret/Sk

Warm down run back to Mackie via hill race 1st climb then down along Slug Rd as Chris not keen to retrace route through Ury on stiff legs.

Amazingly he wasn't put off by his 1st O experience since he was a kid...

Road Cycling tempo 27:13 [4] 6.96 km (3:55 / km) +153m 3:31 / km

Stoney Half Marathon Lead Biking - out of town.
Guiding the runners up the roads to Swanley car park in Fetteresso, had to work hard on the hills in town as the lead guys were flying. Nice to see how quick they run.

Road Cycling 24:28 [3] 6.92 km (3:32 / km)

Stoney Half Marathon Lead Biking - in to town.
Return down the hills and through Glebe before a fun ride through park leading the winner toward the finish funnel. He was quick, 1h17 something for the win...

Road Cycling 35:17 [5] 13.33 km (2:39 / km) +180m 2:29 / km

Ride home after Half Marathon cleared up. Forgot to pack my cycling shoes so had to do the ride in trainers, tough going up the main road climb out of Stoney to Montrose road without the added benefit of lifting pedals too... quads didn't like me.
To add to the fun the wind mostly right into my face so the flat and downhill sections were just about as hard as the hills... still managed a strava PR on the Chapel of Barras North segment... must've been slow in the past!

MTB 1:00:00 [3] 11.77 km (5:06 / km) +173m 4:45 / km

Easy Friday MTB ride around Dunnottar Woods and then along cliff paths from castle to war memorial before back through woods for one last loop. Bit damp under wheels but nice to get out on bike, been way too long.
Nothing too strenuous, Chris happy to just take it easy.

shoes: Adizero Boston Boost (Orange)

SRC Long Hills @ Bervie Braes
W/up around Cowie then to end of Sth breakwater at harbour. 3 x reps up to monument and back with 2 mins rest between. Tough. Real tough.

#2 - 8:34
#3 - 8:19
Was only supposed to go up to car park on 2 but coach said to keep on up to monument (as we stopped... nasty)
