Walked around KU and Lawrence for 3 hours today, checking locations for the score o event next month.
Saw an interesting example of symbiosis: college guy, staring at the mess of beer cans on the front yard, starting to clean it up. Along comes a homeless man with a sack, who asks if he can have all the cans. Yes! Both folks are happy.
PTOC had a sprint event at Sar-Ko-Par park. I did a brisk walk, and tried to complete the course without any errors. Made one slight error when I missed an overgrown trail junction, but otherwise I hit everything cleanly.
Found a $20 bill on the course, so I treated Mike to a free dinner after the event.
Jogging round the cross-country course at Bonner Park. It was a little bit tough tonight, because I'm tired from a week of work, and the course covers some gently rolling ground (I've been sticking to the flats for most of my training).
Still, it was a beautiful spring evening out in the park.

Day Two at West Point: Another OK day, which meant I succeeded on my goal of having two decent days in a row. I was still slow, and far from perfect, but no huge blowups. First time this year I have put together two days in a row (sad but true). Maybe I hit rock bottom at the relays, and now I can start the long climb back to the level of orienteering I had achieved three years ago.
