Night Score O at the Heartland training camp. I seem to have a pretty mild version of the AP cold, so I decided to walk the course tonight. Felt OK, so I even jogged sometimes. Until I hit the wall at 45 minutes. Walked it in after that. Lots of fun.
Great weather helped ensure a great turnout. Between the JROTC and adventure racers, there were about 75 people running around the woods tonight.
Vetting a few PTXI controls, and getting used to moving at night again (there is a night O event this weekend). Surprised to see several other trail runners, and mountain bikers, out there tonight. Their headlamps were not as bright as mine, though! Also scared up a big buck. I think that is only the second time I've seen a buck at SMP.
Note
Shower update: Ken installed a replacement shower door today. We'll wait a few days to see if it explodes again :)
Vetting my new Wyandotte winter test course. This year's course is shorter, but hillier. I avoided any really nasty woods this year; there are even a few trail run stretches. But it will be a tough, physical test course.
I hung some tapes on my practice course, so others KC folks can run it too. Let me know if you would like a copy of the map. But be warned, it is not fun: 4.2K with 201 meters of climb.
