Note
(injured)

I had the bone scan today. Pretty cool. They inject you with radioactive tracer, then you come back two hours later for the scan. Neat to see your whole skeleton on the screen. They also took different angles of my feet. I brought the films home, but they don't scan well. Maybe Mike can help me get good pictures to post later.

Oh, and I definitely have a stress fracture in my right heel. I'm no doctor, but anyone could look at a generally gray image with one obvious black spot and figure it out. Follow up visit with the doctor on the 16th.

aqua jog (class) 1:00:00 [3]
(injured)

first aquajog class. Mix of aerobic (mostly kicking, very fast) and weight work (aqua weights, using water resistance). Glad to get instruction, and have some company. But I think I will need to go to open swim times and do some jogging on my own, to get a longer aerobic workout.

Note
(injured)

I saw the podiatrist today. Preliminary diagnosis: stress fracture. Apparently the injured plantar fascia pulled too much on the heel. I'm getting a bone scan on Thursday to determine if there is a stress fracture, and how bad. That will determine treatment. Probably a walking cast until the bone heals, then PT for the PF. Several months of recovery. I'm bummed. Spring O season just went: poof!

In the mean time, I'm only allowed to do upper-body workouts, or exercise in the water. So I looked at the class schedule for our high school aquatic center. Deep water exercise for fit but injured people starts tomorrow night, so I signed up.

walk 20:00 [2]

run/walk 45:00 intensity: (15:00 @2) + (18:00 @3) + (12:00 @4)

Moving around at Wyandotte. I walked the first 20 minutes, then tried alternating jog/walk (3 min/2 min). Foot felt OK, unless I tried to go uphill. So I kept to the flatter parts. Cold day: started with mittens over running gloves. Didn't take the mittens off until 40 minutes. Fun to run through the soft snow, and look at the animal tracks.
