Local PTOC sprint at Jesse James park. New map, fine course setting by Angie. Hard to believe that I got up with the alarm on a Saturday morning (I love to sleep in) but it was more than an hour drive to the meet. And it was orienteering. So I got up early to race.

Decided to treat this race as if it were next weekend's relay. Concentrated on following usual procedures (for start, checking codes, etc). Also tried to run the right speed; not too fast so that it led to mistakes. I had smooth flow in and out of controls, except for 7, which was a playground fixture (pirate boat), and the marker was up on deck. Took me a few seconds to figure that out.

Mike and I went to Clinton for a short run tonight. Temps were in the 80s, humidity was good, but my legs were tired. It's always hard for me to run on a Friday; the work week seems to catch up with me.

PS Our new refrigerator was delivered today.

Learned some counter-moves tonight, which involves a lot of squatting and lunging. So my legs got a bit of a workout tonight. Beginning to get the hang of this; I scored a few touches during our sparring tonight.

intervals on west campus for the last time. It was wonderful to go in the middle of the day, with cool (relatively) temps. The pouring rain was even fun, too. Always something going on in the parking lot; today a new bus driver was learning how to back up the bus.
