orienteer 30:00 [1]

Putting out markers for our event at the Arboretum. We did a memory O this time (since it's such an easy park) and folks seemed to like it. I was surprised that most of them had never done a memory O before.

One nice surprise, an orienteer from AR came up to visit friends in Lawrence for the weekend, and came to our event. (He had also lived/orienteered in AK, UT and MN). He was very enthusiastic, and hopes to come back up for more events.

While I was putting out markers, I tried jogging for a couple of hundred meters. No pain, but definitely could feel a little something in the hamstring. No problems with it the rest of the day. So a question for folks who have dealt with hamstring injuries in the past: how do you know when it is OK to run again? Is a little bit of discomfort OK? Or should I wait until everything feels perfectly normal? I don't want this to drag on for months, so I'm willing to be patient. Just want to know if I'm being TOO Patient???

Tried some cycling (on mostly flat ground) to see how this would feel. Just fine. Followed by my PT, which is a little bit uncomfortable. Iced afterwards just in case.

Farewell event for Jenny P. Spike, MeanGene, Jenny and her sister Emme did another line o exercise. Followed by a nice dinner at Merchants, and then some Jayhawk souvenir shopping, and a stop at the frozen yogurt spot. A very nice evening. Sad to see Jenny go. Hope we get some more foreign orienteering students next year.
