Started the morning with some multi-tasking:

Then went out for my own ride. Last time I covered 16.05 km in one hour; today it was 16.78. Very small progress :) Today I had cross wind for most of the way, and my tires could use some air. Let's see how much better I can do next time.

Mike and I went to the Overlook. Amazing temps today: upper 70s! Unbelievable for July in Kansas.

I started with some easy walking/jogging to loosen up my tired muscles
Then I did two old sprint courses. Tried to maintain focus (even if I couldn't always maintain speed).

Torture move of the night: split squats. Not that they are so difficult in themselves. But tonight my trainer upped the weights to 25 lb in each hand. Umph!

run/walk 20:00 [1]

A bit of exercise around the parking lots and fields at work, over lunch. A beautiful day in Kansas, low humidity, temps in the mid 70's. I hated to waste it (ie no outdoors exercise after work) but I had scheduled a massage. Which was a fine substitute :) She felt that the hamstring felt healed and suggested that I keep on exercising through the dull ache, as the muscle is getting stronger. So hard to know when to push and when to rest. But it seems like it's time to continue on.

Stopped at Wa for some sushi to go (another Mass St restaurant crossed off the list). And now I'm relaxing in the back yard, enjoying the perfect evening temps. What a great day.

erg 20:00 [1]

Just a quick workout before heading out for a Meetup dinner with the Lawrence Women's Social Group. I sat with four 20-somethings. It was very interesting to hear their stories, and reminisce (in my own head) about my life at their age.

stretch 1 [0]

I wanted to push myself a bit harder on the bike today, so I tried to see how much further I could go in one hour. Last time (Jul 1) 15.7 k. Today, 16.1. Not much, but I'll take it.

Saw some folks trying to install a new 8X8 ft log cabing that had just been delivered by Grandpa (the kid was very excited). Also passed a rider who was listening to a radio that he attached to his handlebars. He was still calling out to warn walkers that he was about to pass, even though you could hear him from a long ways away. I had never seen this before: anyone else ever observe a rider with a radio?
