Sunflower State Games, Gage Park, Topeka.
Lots of busy work getting ready for the event this morning, but it was great to see old and new friends. We had better turnout than last year, and I was excited to be running on a new map.
Some hesitation approaching 3, because the green didn't look olive, but I couldn't tell. Didn't like going through the tall grass, but I managed.
Some difficultly figuring out my line to 12. And then I hit "stop" instead of taking a split, so my track got wonky. This is the only place where I had to unfold the map to look at the description, to see if the control was inside or outside the fence.
I got tired, since I haven't had a longish hard run in several months. Finished in the middle of a pack of folks all around the same time, but 13 seconds behind the other F21 runner (Diane McKim, visiting from Louisville KY with Bruce Moore).
