Yeah for full tires and no wind! In my continuing quest to expand my 60 minute ride, I made it further on the way out today. New PR of 17.0 Km.

Only hazards today were kids: on bikes and on foot. Pretty hard to predict what a toddler will do.

I've decided this is my PG weekend. Today I saw two bald eagles soaring over the Overlook. Add tomorrow: well, you'll just have to wait and see what I'm doing.

Emotional day as we discovered that a co-worker unexpectedly died overnight. She was only 65. I was her manager for a few years, so I took it especially hard.

But Mike found something on TV to distract me tonight: Sharknado 2. A few minutes was enough :)

Sunflower State Games, Gage Park, Topeka.

Lots of busy work getting ready for the event this morning, but it was great to see old and new friends. We had better turnout than last year, and I was excited to be running on a new map.

Some hesitation approaching 3, because the green didn't look olive, but I couldn't tell. Didn't like going through the tall grass, but I managed.

Some difficultly figuring out my line to 12. And then I hit "stop" instead of taking a split, so my track got wonky. This is the only place where I had to unfold the map to look at the description, to see if the control was inside or outside the fence.

I got tired, since I haven't had a longish hard run in several months. Finished in the middle of a pack of folks all around the same time, but 13 seconds behind the other F21 runner (Diane McKim, visiting from Louisville KY with Bruce Moore). route
