Note

More field checking and drafting on the Centennial map today. This is my first map, and it shows. Good thing I picked a small park. And that we have an event scheduled in 2 weeks, which forced me to get it in usable shape.

I'm not sure if I will ever be a mapper. I don't like the drafting part. I don't like anything that needs fussy attention to detail. I'm not a perfectionist. I can't color within the lines.

My trainer canceled due to two sick kids today, so I switched up my training plan for the week and ran/walked my hot 'n hilly loop. I sweated a lot. I was wearing an old-fashioned headband, made me look very silly like John McEnroe or an 80s aerobic instructor. I didn't care.

Easy bike ride with Mike (most of the way; he added on some extra at Kasold hill). Some topics of conversation: club bylaws and memberships; rocks thrown by lawnmowers; watching out for other bicyclists; mountain bike O map reading skills; our bathroom renovation.

aerobics 20:00 [1]

Crazy long work-at-home day with tons of teleconferences. Was really glad to shut down the computer at the end of the day and be able to exercise right away in the basement.

Sunday Aug 4 #

orienteer 1:00:00 intensity: (3:57 @1) + (10:42 @2) + (26:17 @3) + (19:04 @4) 6.15 km (9:45 / km) +147m 8:43 / km

run/walk 1:00:00 [3] 6.15 km (9:45 / km)

I had wanted to go for a long trail run today but everything is flooded and wet. So I did parts of the Tour de KU from 2014. I stayed on the grass as much as possible and stayed in the shade. I was tired starting out (my resting HR has been rising all week) but I felt better in the middle. And then my legs got really tired by the end. I was out 2 hours but I'm only counting about 1 hour of orienteering.
