I wanted nice woods for orienteering today, so I thought of Riverfront Park. Unfortunately my legs are toast and I had no zip, I couldn't run here. Some day I'm going to come here when my legs are super fresh and just run back and forth in the nice flat woods.
Despite walking every bit of it, I still had trouble with navigation. I always do in this flat area. I knew I had gone too far south on the way to 3, but the woods still looked crappy on my left so I kept on going. One of these days I'll actually learn my pace count.
I thought I had found 3 and moved onto 4, which is a spot I know well. I knew I hadn't found it, gave up, tried moving onto 5, then 6. When I hit the stream on the south side, I finally knew where I was. Once I got back to 7 (which I had thought was 3), I decided to try one more time to find 3-4-5. I did better this time.
Another gorgeous day, sunny dry and temps above 15. I saw lots of deer but no people.
This was the second day of stay-cation, back to work tomorrow. I feel less stressed but I can't say I'm looking forward to going back. When can I retire and do this full time???
