A run through the river trails and mt pleasant cemetery where we go running with the Running Room. Had to do this one solo, as Toronto's Caribana Festival this afternoon meant i wouldn't be able to do my usual Sunday morning run.
Warm up run to our interval hill. It started raining when we got there and didn't stop for the whole session.

Wow, this was a culture shock! Torrential downpour throughout the whole session in a highly humid climate is not what i'm used to. Some of the bitumen on the path was even being washed away. There was also a strange custom where you had to clap and cheer the others running up the hill while you were on your recovery down, although it did feel good to be cheered for only a training session!
6 intervals with roughly 3 mins recovery downhill:
1:22 mins
1:32 mins
1:26 mins
1:22 mins
1:27 mins
1:19 mins
A group run with the Running Room this morning, half marathon crew. The pace of this run was a bit more relaxed than last week, although it probably only seemed that way because the heat was less intense.
Wasn't as good as the last instructor, i don't think this guy's ridden a real bike before! Was saving energy for run tonight as well.

I missed the group due to the wrong time posted on the net, so me and another guy Matt ran around the streets with some dodgey directions from the shop looking for the half mara group. We didn't find them, we missed out on intervals, but the pace was brisk.
People definitely wake up late here, the gym is dead in the mornings but a beehive in the evenings! That suits me, i prefer my workouts in the morning, though today had to go after work!
Trying to look for a decent park in Toronto: mission failed! I did get to check out the harbourfront for the first time though, and looking at a map afterwards i was only a few k's out from 'high park'.
