Orienteering race (Summer Series - Medium) 24:23 [5] 5.7 km (4:17 / km)
ahr:177 max:187 spiked:13/26c shoes: Brooks Beast

I was running fairly intensely today, but still getting nowhere. I anticipated the times to be a bit slower due to the 'walking rule' but i didn't expect old man ken to beat me...let alone win the course. Placings were a little crazy today. Oh well, lap it up dad!
I really enjoyed running hard today as it's been 2 weeks since ive run that pace, it was good to slog it out!
That's probably my last summer series event as i have a minor heart operation on thursday, putting me out of action for a few weeks. Maybe i can do the kings park event but walk it...can they bring the rule back for that one?

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Before and after the event

Cycle (commute) 1:00:00 [2]

To and from the gym twice.

Ski Machine 40:00 [3]
max:172

A fairly constant workout on the ski machine, had it on mostly level 10-12.
Would've gone for longer if i could wake up earlier...im seriously a slackass in the morning, and this is summer!

Weights (Upper) 40:00 [3]

Weights are getting a little heavier, still doing high reps. Can't really remember what i did. iPod died, i hate that.
Shoulders: 3 exercises, 14-16 reps, 2 sets each
Chest: 5 exercises, 12-16 reps, 2 sets each
Triceps: 2 exercises, 14-16 reps, 2 sets each

Running (Beach run) 40:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Brooks Beast

Jog along the sand from Trigg to Brighton and back. A few hotties in sight, making it easier to run.
Including 10 minute warm up.

Cycle warm up/down 50:00 [2] 15.8 km (3:10 / km)

A slow casual ride from Joondalup to Balcatta. I was helping Erin with a new bike so kept the pace casual to test it out.

Weights (Core) 30:00 [3]

Back: 3 exercises, 14-15 reps, 2 sets
Abs: 3 exercises
Biceps: 4 exercises, 14-15 reps, 2 sets

Cycle 1:39:18 [3] 40.9 km (2:26 / km)

Day off work today. Pretty casual pace most of the time, as i was riding with unfit training partner. It had it's moments of charging up the hills and chasing trucks.
South through double view, city, east perth, then bayswater, stopped for coffee and scones, then morley, reid hwy to home.

Running intervals (Intervals - marathon club) 50:00 [4] 4.8 km (10:25 / km)
shoes: Brooks Beast

Times remained reasonably consistent. Was feeling a little tired from morning ride.
8 x 400m surge - varied from 1:27min to 1:30min
8 x 200m recovery - varied from 1:00min to 1:04min

Inc 30min warm up/down.

Triceps: 3 exercises, 12-14 reps, 2 sets
Chest: 4 exercises, 14-15 reps, 2 sets

It's a good thing most of my other muscles are made stronger than my shins otherwise i'd be ******!
