Genesee County Park, long advanced.

Pretty bad. I should have paid attention to the 6.9 km straight-line distance and backed off to the short advanced. There were lots of opportunities for trail running and some road running, but I'm not in shape enough to take advantage. Plus it didn't help that I ran 5 miles (one of my longer runs these days) just yesterday afternoon. From the beginning, my legs felt dead.

I'll know when I enter my splits where my problem points were, but my guess is that there were many. No huge navigation blunders, but lots of places where my route choice was no doubt sub-optimum, plus of course many places where the ability to run continuously on trails would have been a huge help.

I'm not a real fan of creating a long course in a venue that isn't all that large, by going back and forth multiple times. Especially annoying, due to my lack of fitness more than anything, was the second to last control which was a long leg headed south, followed by a long leg headed back north to the final control and the finish.

My GPS said I climbed 618 feet which seemed like a lot for a park not really noted for lots of steep hills, but I think I believe it, because my Fitbit (which has an altimeter, and is usually pretty believable) said 660 feet.
