Running hills 35:59 [3] 3.39 mi (10:38 / mi) +420ft 9:31 / mi

Hill workout, Glen Edith hill. Last time I did this workout, AP thought I was "walking". This time AP guessed that I was "Orienteering", which makes more sense than walking, since there were periods of moving very slowly and other times moving faster, kind of like I orienteer.

Pickleball 1:00:00 [2]

Running hills 40:40 [3] 4.08 mi (9:59 / mi) +407ft 9:07 / mi

Bike path and roads in Durand Eastman and vicinity. With trailsnail. Very windy, which is why much of the run was in Durand, to have some wind shelter.

Running hills 32:56 [4] 3.05 mi (10:48 / mi) +380ft 9:40 / mi
shoes: Hoka Conquest 2

Major hill workout! Not long, but intense. Two times up and down the Glen Edith hill, with trailsnail. Plus a bit of running on the flats at the top of the hill.

PS: I'm a bit offended by AP presuming that I was "walking" rather than running, based on the GPS trace! I didn't realize that until well after I posted it. I changed it to running because we were, indeed, running; just rather slowly going uphill.

Running (Dog walk) 29:16 [2] 3.11 mi (9:25 / mi) +90ft 9:10 / mi
shoes: Hoka Conquest 2

Run on HJ trail and on some adjacent roads, with Hanna. Cold (compared to what I'm used to at this point of the season) and a bit blustery, so I viewed this somewhat as HTFU training, getting ready for the real winter.

Strength 30:00 [2]

Went to play pickleball, but there was a bumper crop of other pickleball players there, so I decided to do a fitness room workout rather than get at the end of a line of 9 people waiting for a court. Did various leg exercises (extensions, curls, etc.), some stretching for my back issue, some wrist curls, then about 10 minutes walking on a treadmill, with the incline set to 12.5%, enough to get my pulse rate up a bit.

Running 20:35 [2] 2.01 mi (10:15 / mi) +120ft 9:42 / mi

Short run with trailsnail, along the bay by Iron. Bay Park West. Colder and more blustery that we're used to, so we picked a place somewhat sheltered from the wind. Didn't have a whole lot of time.

Orienteering 32:44 [3] 1.98 mi (16:32 / mi) +65ft 16:02 / mi
shoes: NB 410 v5

Cell-phone-O at Mendon. With trailsnail as partner.

Two score-O courses, 10 controls each, in different parts of the map. Trailsnail did the "B" course first while I guided her via cell phone. (She had no map, I did, back at the lodge.) Got all 10 controls but took something like 37 minutes. There was a somewhat soft time limit of an hour for both courses. So then I did course A with no map, while she guided me on cell phone. Course A was longer, mainly because no controls were all that close to the lodge. Got 8 out of 10 controls. Didn't have any major navigation problems with either course, somewhat surprisingly. On course A, she made the decision not to go for #1 and #7 since it was obvious we were going to be over an hour even w/o doing those. Finished in just under 70 minutes, with 55 points out of the maximum of 60. It was actually easier (and more fun) than I had expected. I can see it being a real disaster, though, if contact with the map is ever lost.

Running ("Long") 49:23 [2] 5.07 mi (9:45 / mi) +50ft 9:39 / mi
shoes: NB 410 v5

Mostly on HJ trail. It's a sad testament to my current level of training that a 5 mile run is considered long, but that's the situation. I was actually fairly pleased that I could do 5 miles fairly comfortably, with no great need to take any walking breaks. I did stop once, while crossing Holt Rd, due to traffic.
