Running 28:00 [3] 2.95 mi (9:29 / mi)
max:160 shoes: Saucony Grid Excursion TR

In Steamboat Springs, CO, with my daughter, Andrea. My first altitude training, in preparation for the Pike's Peak Ascent. Very humbling. This run had virtually no hills, and I still wound up taking several walking breaks.

Running 30:00 [3] 3.6 mi (8:20 / mi)
max:160 weight:184lbs shoes: Saucony Grid Excursion TR

Noon-hour run from work (OCD, Weiland Rd, Greece). Ran east on Ridgeway to Dewey, then took some side roads on the way back. Rained a bit for the first half mile, then rain free. Shorts and t shirt weather again.

Note

I managed to get entered in the Pike's Peak Ascent in mid August. Getting registered for this event may be almost as much of a challenge as actually doing it, but I succeeded. I managed to get my daughter Andrea (who lives in Colorado), myself, and Anne Schwartz registered within 9 minutes of when registration opened, only to find out later that the race filled up in 10 minutes. So we just snuck in.

Now I just need to focus on training for i!

Running 37:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:15 / mi)
max:160 shoes: Saucony Grid Aura TR

Ran along the canal path again, heading east from the east end of Cobbs Lane. Gravel path much better than just 3 days ago. Nice to be running in shorts and a t shirt.

Downhill skiing 1:00:00 [3]

At Bristol Mt. Gorgeous day. As the snow warmed up, the wear and tear on the legs increased.

Snowboarding 20:00 [3]

At Bristol Mountain. Two runs on the snowboard before switching to skiing. I think I'm getting the hang of snowboarding. Would have done it longer except I was with two other people who were on skis, and I didn't want them to be constantly waiting for me.
