Sunday Dec 30

Running 34:50 [2]4.0 mi (8:43 / mi)
weight:174.5lbs (sick) shoes: Nike Pegasus Trail
The cold I had was pretty bad but fortunately moved through very fast, and I felt way better today than yesterday, but still not great. So I decided to try a short run on the canal, from Lyndon Rd heading east, with the dogs. We only did 4 miles but that felt about right for my current state of recovery from the cold. I felt better after the run than before, so that was hopefully a good sign.

The canal path was in real good shape -- I was thinking it might be somewhat wet, with puddles, because that section doesn't seem to drain real well, but it was fine.

Saturday Dec 29

Walking 1:45:00 [1]5.5 mi (19:05 / mi)
weight:176lbs (sick) shoes: Nike Pegasus Trail
Anne and I had planned on doing a long run today, but our running plans got derailed because I had come down with a pretty bad cold late Thursday, and she developed a back problem yesterday. She reported that after Pilates this morning, her back was a lot better but still not great, and my cold was also better but still a major factor, so we decided to scrap our running plans and do a long walk instead.

Went to the Ellison Wetlands, from Empire, to Old Browncroft, back on the road that the rendering plant is on, then back to Empire via a somewhat different route. Took the dogs with us.

Tuesday Dec 25

Running 1:01:44 [3]7.45 mi (8:17 / mi)
max:148 shoes: Nike Pegasus Trail
Christmas afternoon run, during a lull in the action at the house. My excuse was that I wanted to try out my new running jacket, which was a gift from my daughter Andrea. My old jacket was kind of a rusty brown color -- good for camouflage, but not real good for visibility by drivers on gray days like this. So I put on my wish list a jacket in a bright color, and this new one fits the bill, it's bright yellow.

Ran through the woods at the end of Woodland, then out to Maple; north on Maple to Klem, then to 5 ML Rd, then south to Ridge, west to Maple, and back to Woodland.

Monday Dec 24

Running 1:07:24 [1]6.75 mi (9:58 / mi)
weight:173.5lbs shoes: Asics Gel Kahana Oct 07
Anne and I ran on the Genesee River trail, from Ontario Beach to Turning Pt Park then up to Lake Ave., and back. Footing was OK for most of the trail; around 3 inches of light snow with no ice underneath. However, parts of it, like in and around Turning Pt Park, were pretty rutted up underneath. Windy morning, but this trail offered pretty good shelter from the wind.
