| Long run on the canal from Shoen Place. With Anne, Sue D., and for part of the run (met us at the JCC), Natalie and Erin. Sue hadn't run in 6 weeks (at all), so there were a lot of walking breaks (summed up on separate entry). |
 | Walking 30:00 [0]1.5 mi (20:00 / mi) | |

| Estimated total of walking breaks during long run. Much more walking distance on the way back (including one almost 1-mile stretch) due to this being an over ambitious distance for Sue. |

| Working on updating the Letchworth map, in the area N and NE of Trailside Lodge. I felt a little overwhelmed by how many trail changes there are, in both directions -- trails on the map that don't exist any more, and trails that exist but aren't on the map. Many of the trails will be mapped indistinct -- they're blazed and primarily used for XC ski trails, but not real prominent (but enough so that I think it would be more confusing to not show them at all). Plus, as I expected, there are a lot of changes in fallen trees/rootstocks -- many new ones (although I didn't see any freshly fallen from yesterday's wind storm), and many mapped ones that are no longer visible. |

| Long run with Anne, after getting back from Letchworth. From my house, to Maple and bike path, to Rt 250, N on 250 to Orchard to Holt to bike path, and return. |

| Walk around Canal Ponds paths at noontime with Sue D. Warm and windy; changed into a t shirt for the walk because I thought I'd be too warm in a long sleeve dress shirt. |
 | Running 50:17 [3]6.21 mi (8:06 / mi) | |

| Even though I had taken a walk at noon, I just couldn't resist getting out for a run in early Jan. in shorts and a t shirt. Ran through the woods to Maple, then Rt 104 bike path to Hard Rd and back. Came out to be precisely 10 km (as precisely as the Forerunner measured anyway). Very nice day, got some extra energy and sped up on the way back (averaged 8:25/mile going out, and 7:45/mile coming back). |
