| Setting out controls for simple O course at Casey Park in Ontario, as part of our church's winter afternoon get together. |
 | Running 19:30 [4]2.6 mi (7:30 / mi) | |

| After the O event was done (which everyone enjoyed), I went for a run to pick up the controls. I was pushing pretty hard the whole way. I didn't have my GPS with me so the distance is an estimate from the O map. I subtracted around 20 seconds per control from my actual time to account for getting each control untied and into a plastic shopping bag.
I was somewhat dismayed to weigh myself before getting into the shower after the run, and seeing that I weighed 177.5. That's the highest I've been in ages. I had been holding pretty steady around 172-173 for most of the winter so far. |
Friday Jan 25 |
 | Downhill skiing 1:00:00 [1] | |
| |
| Downhill skiing at Bristol, with Cheryl and Anne. Very rough estimate of time actually skiing. |
 | Snowboarding 30:00 [2] | |
| |
| Switched from skis to snowboard about 2/3 of the way through the day. Snowboarded for around 4 runs, sometimes with Cheryl and Anne, sometimes on my own because my snowboarding pace and choice of slopes is too lame for them. |
Wednesday Jan 23 |
 | Running long 1:28:04 [1]9.37 mi (9:23 / mi) | |
| weight:173lbs shoes: Nike Pegasus Trail |
| Long run, with Anne, on the Genesee river trail, from Ontario Beach, to Lake Ave, south on Lake Ave. past the cemeteries, to the first street on the right (Winchester?), and return. With one walking break about 1/3 of the way into the run (included in the time and distance). Averaged 9:22/mile up to the walking break, and 9:14/mile after the break. Footing was decent for the most part, and most of the route was fairly protected from the wind. |

 | Running 56:00 [1]6.0 mi (9:20 / mi) | |

| Late afternoon run on the Hojack trail with Anne, after we both got out of work. From Klem SE past Hard just past the school, then back NW to Lake Rd, and then back to Klem. Fairly windy day but Hojack trail seemed quite sheltered because it really wasn't annoying at all. |
