Sunday Feb 10

Running 1:07:20 [1]6.51 mi (10:21 / mi)
weight:173.5lbs shoes: Asics Gel Kahana Oct 07
Cold, windy day, but Anne and I decided to persevere and get a run in anyway. We wimped out and didn't do a very long run though, just didn't have that much determination.

We ran on the Genesee River Trail from Turning Point Park to Ontario Beach Park, and along the boardwalk at the beach a ways. Much of the trail was sheltered pretty well from the wind, but the part that goes out over the river by Turning Pt Park was brutal, as was the unsheltered part going through the parking lot by the beach.

The footing was also pretty poor, nearly the whole way. There was a base of irregular ice (from where there was slushy snow, with footprints in it, which froze), covered by about an inch of fresh snow.

Friday Feb 8

Running 1:06:00 [1]7.0 mi (9:26 / mi)
weight:172lbs shoes: Asics Gel Kahana Oct 07
Late afternoon run on the roads around here, with Anne. We were going to do a longer run but neither of us felt the greatest, so we just did 7. From my house, to Maple, to Klem, north on Drum, north on Baker to Lake, east on Lake to Pellet, south on Pellet to where it ends in T (can't remember the name), west on that road to Drum, south on Drum to Klem to Maple and back home.

Thursday Feb 7

Snowboarding 40:00 [2]
Snowboarding at Bristol, after getting off of work. Three runs. Conditions decent but snow guns on Sunset and Infinity were just getting cranked up which were annoying to snowboard through.

Wednesday Feb 6

Running 1:15:00 [3]8.35 mi (8:59 / mi)
weight:172lbs shoes: Nike Pegasus Trail
Treadmill workout at Bayview Y. Started around 5 mph, increased by 0.1 every minute up to 9.0 mph, then gradually reduced speed to around 6.5 mph until the end.

Tuesday Feb 5

Snowboarding 15:00 [2]
Worked at Bristol late afternoon and evening, got there just early enough to head out for one run from the top on the snowboard. Didn't have any need for any more than a single run anyway; not the greatest day. The top half of the mountain was in a cloud, and the conditions were unexpectedly icy/hard packed (unexpected for a 50 degree day).

Monday Feb 4

Running long 1:33:46 [2]10.12 mi (9:15 / mi)
weight:170lbs shoes: Asics Gel Kahana Oct 07
Long run with Anne, from my house, to Maple, north to Klem, east on Klem to Phillips and return. Felt like I was working pretty hard for a 9:15 pace, and no excuse about the footing (shoulder was clear of snow for the most part). I've started a new medication for blood pressure, a week ago, and I'm wondering if it may be having a detrimental effect on running pace. I won't make any conclusions until I get at least a few more weeks under my belt. (BP medication seems very effective at what it's intended for at least; my BP was 105/62 about 30 minutes after my run today.)
