Running 57:17 [2] 6.76 mi (8:28 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Can't resist Fairport this weekend, apparently. I again drove to Perinton Park, ran from there into the village, through the festival crowds, and on to Lyndon Ave, then back. Once in the village, I crossed the canal at Rt. 250 and ran on the side streets between 31F and the canal, back to the 31F bridge and to Perinton Park. Pleasant enough day for a run; mid to upper 60's, generally overcast. I carried a bottle of water which I pretty much consumed during the run; without it, I'm guessing I might have thought it was too hot, but with it, I felt fine.

Walking 1:40:00 [0] 3.0 mi (33:20 / mi)
shoes: Screw shoes Asics Kahana 2 Mar

Really can't call this training, but there will be nothing else to log today, so this will have to do. Walking to and from, and around, Fairport Canal Days. Cheryl and I parked in Perinton Park and walked to and from the village, so we did get a little focused walking in, in addition to the slow-motion wandering around at the festival.

Mapping 1:05:00 [1] 1.9 mi (34:12 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Working on the Seneca Park map. Didn't want to spend a whole lot of time on it today because of other things planned during the day and evening, but it felt good to make a little progress, anyway.

Not sure whose idea it was to resurrect this map to do a meet on this year ... certainly not the greatest orienteering venue in our inventory. But maybe an interesting sprint can be set. I see that Randy is the meet director but there's no course setter down yet. I don't envy the person with the task of setting courses at Seneca, and will try to avoid getting roped into doing it myself.

I remember a previous active club member, Eric Mayer (who has since left the area), had an astute observation about course setting at Seneca: "If you find a feature, you put a control on it".

Running 1:00:49 [2] 6.8 mi (8:57 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Mostly road run, from home.

Running 30:20 [1] 3.34 mi (9:05 / mi)
shoes: Screw shoes Asics Kahana 2 Mar

Easy run on the Hojack trail, with Anne and Homer. Very pleasant; mid 50's, must have been due to some lake effect cooling because the official Rochester temp is 65 F.

Running ((with dog)) 50:12 [3] 5.75 mi (8:44 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 10

Morning run with Homer on the Hojack Trail, and also on the "bird sanctuary" trail (although I didn't see any birds this morning) which starts on the other side of Orchard Street, across from North Ponds Park.

Running hills 36:39 [4] 3.52 mi (10:25 / mi) +656ft 8:51 / mi
max:160 shoes: Asics Gel Kahana 2 Aug 2008

Ellison Wetlands trail run, with the dog (Homer). Still tough, but I may be doing slightly better on the uphills than last time I did this run, about a week ago. Also, a minor victory for me lately is doing a trail run without falling, and this minor victory was achieved today.
