Walking (Dog walk) 1:18:16 [1] 4.8 mi (16:18 / mi) +126ft 15:54 / mi
shoes: Saucony Progrid Hurricane 11

Different (and longer) route than normal, but still with a stop for a dip in the creek at Finn Park. Because of the closing of the westbound lanes on the Iron. Bay Bridge, there's a major traffic jam on Rt. 104 getting off at Bay Rd (and also, not surprisingly, on southbound Bay Rd). Since it's rare (thankfully) to have a major traffic jam within walking distance of my house, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to check it out. That's why a lot of the distance was on the Rt. 104 bike path.

On the walk out (to the east), the traffic started backing up at Gravel Rd. On the way back, I couldn't tell how far it had backed up because I didn't get on the bike path until Maple, but it didn't seem like it was quite as jammed up as an hour previously. While traffic was definitely backed up as of Maple, it was actually moving along reasonably well. I was thinking I'd be able to walk as fast as the cars were moving, but they must have been moving along at least 3 times my walking speed, as I didn't come close to keeping up with traffic.

Note

Another hour or a little more of painting, working on the sunny side of the house until sunlight became a little too direct for good painting. Progress is being made, at least.

Walking (Dog walk) 43:40 [1] 2.77 mi (15:46 / mi) +116ft 15:10 / mi
shoes: Saucony Progrid Hurricane 11

Pretty much the same walk as yesterday -- to Finn Park, stop for a dip in the creek, then back a slightly longer route.

The main excitement for Homer was that when we emerged from the trail and entered the field at Finn Park, there was a ground hog, not real close to the brushy area where he would have had a good escape. Fortunately (for the ground hog at least), the ground hog was about 20 feet away and I had Homer's retractable leash out around 10 feet.

Note

1.5 hours of painting at the rental house. Started working on the south side; I got going early enough that I had the full 1.5 hours with no sun on the siding of the house. Actually, the eave still shielded the house siding so I could have kept going probably another half hour if I had been energetic.

Very similar to yesterday's walk, but a little longer. Over to Finn Park, stop for a dip in the creek (for Homer, not me), then back, but slightly longer route coming back.

Walking (Dog walk) 39:50 [1] 2.37 mi (16:48 / mi) +73ft 16:20 / mi

Over to Finn Park and back, with a dip in the creek at Finn Park for Homer. Actually not all that bad out.

GPS was balky at first, didn't acquire satellites until a few minutes into the walk, so I estimated the non-GPS'd distance.

Note

Can't really log this as training, but spent about 2 hours on exterior house painting on our rental house in Rochester. Since most of that time was pretty high up on a ladder, and the ladder had to moved frequently, I did get SOME workout climbing up and down it. But certainly not enough to log this as 2 hours of "training" of any sort.
12 PM

Lawn mowing 25:00 [1]

Back yard only.
6 PM

Walking (Dog walk) 53:53 [1] 3.25 mi (16:35 / mi) +92ft 16:09 / mi

Evening walk with Homer to Finn Park and then around the big block and back home.
